Run them Phil.
Cast pistons have an edge over most forged pistons.
They are lighter cast- Hyperpnetuic .
Less stress on the connecting rod.
Observe 4000-4200 feet per second rule.

Small bore of the 4.8 makes the piston natural lighter also.

With your Z so light I think 3.42- 3.55 gears will get the job done with 9-15 pounds boost.
5.0 Stang way.

You are going to need a Piston Ring Groove cleaning tool Phil.
Cleaning piston ring land grooves is difficult without the tool.
Can break an old piston ring in half and use it as a scrsping tool.
Works but not as accurate and easy to clean the piston ring lands.
Must be spotless clean.

I am using K.B. Hypers in 1 Poncho too Phil.
Thermal properties & Heat reflection of the Aluminium Alloy is ideal.

Been having good luck on fleabay this winter.
A few parts I will purchase from Summit Racing.

I have heard scrap metal prices are down.
80-100 bucks a ton. Scrap iron and steel.
Is that true ?

last summer i got 150 bucks for about 500 pounds of scrap metals, brass, aluminum, iron, steel, elec motors, etc... mostly aluminum radiators with plastic endcaps and one iron nissan sentra block with a hole in it. two weeks ago we took a parts car to the yard to scrap the whole car (96 accord) and got 200 bucks for it... seems down to me.

1988 C1500 Chevy is TBI Like my 1994 K1500 Suburban 4-wheel drive 350 TBI.
They are 2-bolt main blocks all.
Iron heads.
All Torque but run good.
$500 is a good deal.
Googled scrap metal prices and its down nationwide.
Down all of February and March predicted .
Collected a lot of scrap for last 18 months.
Wait to cash it in.
