Thats fixing to start, and I may even stream a video from my laptop, Windows 8 is amazing. It has a webcam in it and I may stream it, or record it and show it later.

Like the cutout so the table raps around you some. Looks like you may need a
short back on it to keep objects from rolling off the table.

I agree, like the cutout! And also recommend a backsplash.

I may add something to the back, I some the pipe exsposed so it will slide into the studs on the wall I am going to keep it on. I am going to use it to put my drill press and battery charger on when I am not using it. I will probably put a small piece of angle iron at the back as a stop for things that like to roll away. The whole table cost me about 25 bux, particle board and bolts to fasten it to the pipe. A buddy gave me the casters that he had, since his use for them has/is long gone by now.

I really like home fabricated tools, and the fact your building something custom to allow you to better use what you have and save money , but looking at that table ID suggest some cross angle bracing, as engines are heavy and single weld points can occasionally fail under stress, mig welding in angle gussets into 90 degree angles where the table support and leg sections meet, would sure make me feel a bit more secure if it was in my shop, especially If I placed engine parts on that, Id also suggest a second layer of 3/4" plywood, over the particle board, and a good amount of wood glue between the surfaces to make the table top much more rigid, it won,t cost nearly what a trip to the emergency room might if that deck fails under load

HAVING A WORKING & WELDING TABLE IS NOT MANDATORY, BUT YOULL WONDER HOW ANYONE CAN WORK WITHOUT A DECENT VISE AND WORK BENCH,ONCE YOU HAVE ONE IN YOUR SHOP, AND A SOLID METAL BENCH HAS BENEFITS FOR USE AS A WELDING LOCATION. I KNOW IVE WANTED ONE LIKE THIS PICTURE FOR DECADES.....I JUST NEVER SEEM TO GET THE CASH BEFORE SOME FAMILY EMERGENCY TAKES IT FIRST

Well Grumpy, I feel the same about the bracing, I plan on making some corner gussets to weld in, the top will have to stay particle board for now. I plan on making the permanent top 3/8 carbon plate, the particle board is temporary.
