watch the video and post your thoughts,
I have some mixed feelings, basically based NOT so much on what hes doing,
but on the likely results when someone whose less than familiar with the oil passage lay out screws it up,
by drilling or tapping too deep,
this has potential benefits but the procedure is far from risk free if the person doing the work is not careful

Looks like a great way to clean up the casting and remove all the sand left
in the oil passages.

I'm not so sure that making the center passage bigger is going to help. After
a certain diameter any bigger is not going to flow more oil. To flow more oil
would require a larger bearing clearance.

No need to do on a Pontiac V8.
Main Oil Galleries are 5/8" .
Main bearing feed holes are 5/16".

OLD SCHOOL NASCAR OILING TRICKS SHOWN FOR SBC.
Does it help ?
Not sure.
Restriction is in the main bearing oil feed holes in each upper main bearing insert.

You can increase oil volume to crank with standard clearances.
Use 100-150 Psi Hot oil pressure.
Done much different on Pontiac V8.

the 1/4" and 5/16" drill bits for the main bearing feed oil flow passages could be drilled with a bit thats 6"-8" long and work just fine

One concept that's not very well understood is that Chevy, Pontiac, Oldsmobile Engineers implemented Oil system Resevoirs in Each engine oil galleries system leading to the upper main bearing Shells.
For when the engine experienced a momentarily drop in oil pressure under full loads.
