"I ran out of mig wire for my lincoln MIG and went down to lowes and bought a slightly differant dia. and type, my welder works like $^^& now?. (YES I changed to the correct tips)"

heres some decent sources of welding info
IF THERES ONE THING IVE LEARNED...OVER THE YEARS.....ITS THAT..
If you ask questions BEFORE you start ,and BEFORE you screw up, things TEND TO go smoother

DO YOURSELF and your projects a HUGE FAVOR,
anytime you run into a problem while welding ,
STOP,
ASK QUESTIONS,
CORRECT THE PROBLEM,
before PROCEEDING
and yes changing the polarity , the wire type or dia., the shield gas,the pressure, the weld rods, ETC,ETC. from what you know currently works,WILL almost always require other matched changes or youll have problems.
NO ONE knows everything, be smart and ask questions, and get answers from the PROS
