(SOLD) 10 Carburetors - 1 low price!

Postby chromebumpers » August 28th, 2013, 2:36 am

I have 9 Quadrajets and 1 Holley 4 V Economaster

Here are the numbers
1) 7045222 R6 date: 0435

2)17086008 JNB date: 2396

3) 17084201 HXZ date: 3553

4) 17058218 BJH date: 3407

5) 17080298 DNO date: 0882

6) 17084201 HXZ date: 1514

7) 17088115 JXW date: 2738

8) 17080274 CMC date: 1000

9) 17084254 HXJ date: 3373

10) Holley Economaster L-7459 (Small 4V replaces QJ)

NOTE: These are original carbs taken off running motors. All were checked with a straight edge on the bodies to assure no warpage, Checked - no cracks, not left outside in weather. In short these are good carbs ready for standard rebuilds. Some are missing filter nuts, a choke diaphragm or a minor linkage. If anything small inexpensive parts may be needed but if you know anything about QJs everything is easily available and cheap. I need $190. for all (less then $20 each) They don't make Quadrajets anymore and easily worth $60 each (see eBay Motors) - and that alone is a deal. It's is important to note these are not your average production shop rebuilds with JB weld and stripped fine threads (serious techs know what I mean). Email me at ashesaway@juno.com

The 1st Q-jet listed I may be intetested in.
I can't make out the entire #, your Avitar picture covers it up .
I just know its Pre 74.
The rest are later Smog era. 75& later.
Can't checkc#'s now.
But one may be from a 454 motorhome.
Later 77-79 WS6 400 TA Poncho carbs pretty good to work with.
Supply 500-525 HP with hand selected metering parts.

The Smog carbs began with the 170 series in 76. it's the 70 followed by the next 2 numbers (these indicate the year). So 7045222 is a 75 (45) 2 non-Cal car, 2 is Chevy and the last 2 is even for auto. If you take off the choke crap and the throttle position sensor you are left with a standard Q-Jet, just check the jets.

I must clean house and not drag this out, so I'm lowering the price to $100. for all 10 carbs - don't you think that's a good deal? There was a company that bought the choke pull-offs for $5 each and some other parts and I cannot find them now. It was only this past spring on a website.

The choke pulloffs are needed to make a Q-jet work correct so there is No WOT BOG.
I can still find a few different types used.
The goofy metal choke pull off rods are very hard to find if missing.
Difficult to recreate the exact geometry of missing originals.

I blew my small wad of cash stashed for play $ Rich.
I bought myself a Vintage Offenhauser - Offy 360 Series intake to try. out on my Olds 425 engine.
Replace the stock Iron Square bore carb intake.
The Offy intake can use the Holley square bore pattern carb or spreadbore Q-jets .
Fleabay find at decent price.
Arrived Saturday at my house 3 days early .
Nice used intake. No stripped threads or cracks.

Hotrodder mechanics like me live for Government Top Secret Hotrod & Race builds - jobs. $$.
