I need a NEW LT1 water pump

I need a NEW LT1 water pump,for my 1996 corvette!
as its rather obvious that the current ones on its last legs and while I'm not flush with buckets of cash I don,t want to buy some crappy pump or refurbished water pump , I want to find whats available AND hopefully find some high volume, high flow pump too improve on the stock water pump.
After all, if your going to replace a part it makes sense to upgrade its capacity if that a reasonable cost option, so if you have replaced your 1996 LT1 water pump and found what you used to do it was either a problem or an improvement over the original water pump Id like to hear about it in either case , and know the part number ,brand and cost and where you got it, and if anyone knows if theres a true higher flow rated and more durable aftermarket LT1 water pump thats available for that application.

yes I'm fully aware theres numerous options, but Id like to hear from real world experience here as I really have had some rather less than impressive results when I just take advertizing at face value
ROCK AUTO, SUMMIT RACING, JEGS, ECKLERS, HAVE THE WATER PUMPS, as does NAPA AND ADVANCED AUTO AND OTHERS , UNDER $120 is average

my vette still has the factory pump on it and im sure theres plenty of signs of oxidation and cavitation from years of service (remember 152kmiles!!) if i pull it off, but as long as it does the job within my realm of acceptability then im gonna leave it there. maybe if i do a cam swap someday i will replace it since itll be off anyway. i am interested, however, in seeing what some LT1ers have to say about upgrades and and quality foctory replacements that may give me another 18+ years of service.

There's never enough money to build it right, but there's always enough to build it twice!

I just spend a couple hours out in the shop replacing the LT1 water pump in my 1996 corvette, , this should have been and at times probably is, a rather strait forward job with few problems you would not expect, access too the water pump SUCKS at least with my old lower back, deciding on how easy it is to work on, because you can,t easily see everything due to the hood on the corvette only allowing access from both sides rather than the front, making getting to the 6 bolts holding the water pump to the block, and especially in this case, the shorter center bolt on the drivers side, is a TOTAL P.I.T.A. in that the alternator and power steering pump block any reasonable attempt at easy access.
between the lower back pain from leaning over the front tires ,at stupid angles and the accessory brackets limiting access, it changed what should have been a 1-1.3 hour job into a 2.4 hour job that mandated taking a couple brakes for midol then a percocet, well before I had finished the part replacement proceedure,as the lower back pain increased exponentially and took over my full undivided attention.
and yeah theres always those little issues that come up, I was forced to replace the alternator electrical plug pigtail as the one I had was brittle and came apart in 3 pieces when it was removed, so that time included a side trip to NAPA to buy a pigtail, shrink tube and solder

I can,t believe the number of times I use this insulation rubber shrink tube sections ,to make electrical splice repairs so it makes a great deal of sense to buy in the larger package sizes as you get 5-7 times as much tube for less than 3 of the smaller blister packs contain

I was hoping you were gonna say you took a viagra break and post one of those pieces of hot eye candy you usually do. It also seems no job ever ends up strait forward does it.
